All-way stop sign installed on Simcoe Street in Oshawa

The Regional Municipality of Durham announced it is adding a new all-way stop at the intersection of Simcoe Street South (Regional Road 2) and Harbour Road.

Where: At the intersection of Simcoe Street South (Regional Road 2) and Harbour Road in Oshawa.

When: Tentatively scheduled for September 25. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Why: To improve road safety.

The municipality said the new all-way stop will require all drivers in each direction to stop their vehicle before entering the intersection and yield the right-of-way to the first vehicle or other road user to come to a complete stop. This enhancement will improve safety by providing a controlled crossing for all road users.
