Argument leads to stabbing, suspect surrenders

Durham Police investigators have charged a 29-year-old male in connection to a stabbing over the weekend in Ajax.

On Friday, September 9 at about 11:40 pm, members of West Division responded to the area of Harkins Drive and Card Street in Ajax. The victim and suspect had a verbal altercation and the suspect stabbed the 37-year-old male before fleeing in his vehicle. The victim was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life threatening injuries, said a police statement.

Investigators were able to identify a suspect, who attended a police station where he was arrested and charged, it said.

The suspect from Ajax was charged and held for a bail hearing. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.
