Durham police are searching for a man after an armed robbery at a cash advance business in Pickering.
On Friday, March 20, around 3:55 pm, members of West Division responded to an armed robbery at The Cash Shop located at 1660 Kingston Road.
A male entered the business and forced the doors to a secure employee area open. The suspect made threats to an employee with a weapon while demanding cash. The suspect stole electronics and more than $10,000 cash before fleeing the area.
The victim did not suffer any physical injuries, police said.
The suspect is described as: man, Black, 25-30 years old, approximately 6’2” tall, with a slim build.
Convenience Store Robbed
Police are also searching for a male after he robbed a convenience store in Pickering.
On Friday, March 20, around 1:05 am, members of West Division responded to a robbery call at the Circle K convenience store located at 1298 Kingston Road.
A man inside the business waited until all customers had left before approaching the sales counter and demanded cash from an employee.
The suspect kept his hand in his jacket pocket giving the impression he was armed. The suspect accessed the cash register and stole cash before fleeing the area on foot.
The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.
The suspect is described as: man, Black, approximately 5’10” tall, with a heavy build.
