Body found in Bowmanville identified, death not suspicious

Durham Police investigators are releasing the identity of the female who was located deceased in Bowmanville and are urging anyone with information about her prior whereabouts to come forward.

On Tuesday, November 28 at about 4:30 am, members from East Division were searching a wooded area near Simpson Avenue and Baseline Road in Bowmanville for an unrelated matter. During this search they discovered the human remains.

The female has been identified as 40-year-old Ericka Saunders (image above), police said.

At this time her death is not being treated as suspicious. However, investigators are looking to speak to anyone who may have spoken with or seen Ericka prior to her passing to come forward.
