Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said there was nothing yet to suggest any suspicious circumstances surrounding the dead body of a person found in Clarington.
“At this point in the investigation, there is nothing to suggest foul play. Investigation is still ongoing to determine the identity of the deceased,” said a police tweet.
It added that a post-mortem will be conducted as per the coroner.
Officers of DRPS East Division responded to an unknown trouble call at 12:50 pm yesterday.
There were reports of a deceased party located on the ice near Cedar Crest Beach Road in Bowmanville. Police are on scene investigating, said an earlier tweet.
No further details had been released till late last night with DRPS promising: “More info to come”.
