Brock shortlists 14 capital projects for implementation in 2025

The Township of Brock has prepared a shortlist of 14 preferred 2025 Capital Budget projects, some of which include funding via tax levies.

The township council is currently in the 2025 budget preparation phase and is asking residents to take a survey on the shortlisted projects. Comments can be submitted to clerks@brock.ca until October 1.

These include the $9.2 million renovation and expansion of the Sunderland Arena, which projects a shortfall of up to $820,000. It is proposed to fund this shortfall through multiple sources, including the issue of debentures, according to the shortlist.

Another project is the $1 miilion Beaverton Arena upgrade with new pads, boards, backers and glass, to be funded via reserves.

Capital expenditure on the project to enhance the shoreline, sidewalk and seating at the north beach area in Beaverton, will need to be worked out. This project, as well as the construction of a bandshell/pavilion at the Beaverton Fairgrounds, are proposed to be funded via tax levies.

The township council also proposes to sell Wilfrid Hall and divest Beaverton-Thorah Medical Centre.

The full list of the shortlisted projects and their details are available here.
