Chevy Tahoe seemingly rising up in car thieves wish list

It appears that Chevrolet’s Tahoe is gaining popularity among car thieves in Durham, according to an alert issued by the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).

It has been reported in the past that Dodge Rams were a choice item along with BMWs and Toyota Lexus.

“DRPS has responded to three separate incidents this morning were Chevy Tahoes have been stolen,” said the alert issued yesterday.

In one case, a brief pursuit took place after which two suspects are in custody, police said.

It said two incidents occurred in Pickering, one near Whites Road and Finch Avenue, and another near Altona Road and Finch Avenue. The third was in Whitby near Winchester Road East and Baldwin Street East.

Police said if residents see anything suspicious in their areas, they should call DRPS at 905-579-1520.
