Cigarette thief brandishes box cutter at man who tried to block

A 28-year-old male has been arrested following the robbery of a convenience store in Oshawa.

On Tuesday, October 1, at about 11:30 pm, members of Central East Division responded to a robbery at the Circle K located at 1051 Simcoe Street North. The suspect entered the store and grabbed a quantity of cigarettes before attempting to flee the scene.

A witness attempted to block the door, at which point the suspect brandished a box cutter and fled.

There were no physical injuries reported.

The man, age 28, of Oshawa, is facing 10 charges and was held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
