Clarington moves towards online permits, applications

Clarington announced it is implementing new development tracking software to help streamline permit and application processing.

Over the next few months, Clarington will begin rolling out a new corporate development tracking system to help process planning applications and issue building permits. The new software will streamline the internal processing of these applications, resulting in reduced wait times and improved customer service.

Once the system is fully implemented, applicants will be able to apply online through the portal and submit electronic plans, studies, and documents. They can then track the progress of their applications throughout the process. The portal will also provide information about development applications, allowing questions typically directed to the municipality by phone, email, or in-person visits to be answered through the self-serve information available on the website, said a statement.

Existing information and applications in Clarington’s current system will be migrated to the new portal, it added.
