Clarington too offers day camps for affected students

Clarington yesterday announced School’s Out Day Camp at South Courtice Arena starting Monday, November 7, to help families who are unable to find alternate arrangements for their children during the school closures.

Oshawa was the first to announce day camps for kids affected by school closures.

A Clarington statement detailed what parents need to know:

  • Participants will enjoy an action-packed day of fun, games, crafts, activities and more.
  • Camps are open to children aged four to 12, and participants turning four by December 31, 2022, are eligible to register.
  • Camps will run from 9 am to 4:30 pm, with flexible drop-off from 8:30 to 9 am and pick-up between 4:30 and 5 pm. Government-issued photo ID is required to pick up camp participants, and it must match one of the authorized persons listed at the time of registration.
  • Participants should pack a nut-free lunch, bring extra drinks and dress appropriately, as some activities may take place outside.
  • The camp fee is $41.65 per day. You must register for each camp day individually.
  • Registration fees will be refunded if schools reopen to in-person or online learning before camp begins.
  • Day camp may not be offered every day during job action; however, we will continue to add additional days as our facility space and staffing availability allows.
