Durham District School Board (DDSB) yesterday took the precautionary measure of placing one of its schools in Oshawa temporarily under ‘Shelter in Place’ order.
On November 1, another south Oshawa school was placed under a ‘Hold-and-Secure’ for a police investigation (see below). The reason for the investigation was not disclosed.
Dr. C. F. Cannon Public School is currently under a Shelter in Place order due to police activity near the school,” said a DDSB tweet.
It said Durham Regional Police Service officers were on site.
“Students and staff are safe and their classroom activities continue as normal,” said DDSB adding “We will provide further updates as they become available.”
In an update later, it announced that the Shelter in Place order has been lifted.
