A second person has now been arrested and is facing charges in three separate jewelry store robberies that occurred within Durham Region.
On May 12 at about 3:05 pm, members from Central West Division responded to an attempted robbery at the Graziella Fine Jewellery store in the Whitby Mall. A short time later, at around 3:40 pm, members of Central East Division responded to a robbery at the Oshawa Centre at the Paris Jewellers on King Street. One of the suspects smashed a display case, stole jewelry and fled. Near 5 pm, members of West Division responded to the Pickering Town Centre for a robbery at the Michael Hill Jewellery store.
One of the three suspects was arrested on September 7, 2022, and a second suspect is now facing charges. Police are still looking to identify the third suspect and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward, said a police statement.
The second suspect from Toronto, was arrested, charged and released on an undertaking. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.
