Covid Update: 43 new cases, total active cases at 237

Durham Health yesterday posted 43 new Covid-19 cases for June 10, taking the region’s tally to 24,997 since the count began on February 29, 2020.

Durham’s overall death toll stands at 370, with 218 of them occurring in LTCs.

Recoveries stand at 24,390. However, there are 237 active covid cases. Twenty-eight cases are hospitalized with 9 in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 209 people in home isolation.

Durham Health reported the highest number of covid cases so far in Ajax.

There were:

  • 2 cases in Pickering
  • 10 in Ajax
  • 5 in Whitby
  • 22 in Oshawa
  • 4 in Clarington
  • none in Uxbridge
  • none in Scugog
  • none in Brock

Covid Deaths: 370

Of the 117 reported deaths in Pickering, 87 were in LTC
Of the 65 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTC
Of the 58 reported deaths in Whitby, 30 in LTC
Of the 62 reported deaths in Oshawa, 34 were in LTC
22 deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTC]
26 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTC
17 deaths have been reported in Scugog, 14 in LTC
3 deaths have been reported in Brock
