Covid Update: No new cases in 5 municipalities

Durham Health yesterday posted 10 new Covid-19 cases for June 28, taking the region’s tally to 25,223 since the count began on February 29, 2020.

Durham’s overall death toll stands at 374, with 218 of them occurring in LTCs.

Recoveries stand at 24,788. However, there are 61 active covid cases. Four cases are hospitalized with 2 in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 57 people in home isolation.

Durham Health reported the highest number of covid cases so far in Ajax.

There were:

  • 4 cases in Pickering
  • 2 in Ajax
  • none in Whitby
  • 4 in Oshawa
  • none in Clarington
  • none in Uxbridge
  • none in Scugog
  • none in Brock

Covid Deaths: 374

Of the 117 reported deaths in Pickering, 87 were in LTC
Of the 67 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTC
Of the 59 reported deaths in Whitby, 30 in LTC
Of the 62 reported deaths in Oshawa, 34 were in LTC
23 deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTC]
26 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTC
17 deaths have been reported in Scugog, 14 in LTC
3 deaths have been reported in Brock
