Motorcyclist in trauma centre after crash with car

A 24-year-old male was seriously injured after a motor vehicle collision in Whitby, on Monday evening.

On June 28, 2021, at approximately 8:22 p.m., members from Central West Division were called to Brock Street and Manning Road for a collision involving a silver Honda Civic and a motorcycle. Officers arrived on scene and located the driver of the motorcycle who was suffering from serious injuries. He was treated on scene by Durham Paramedic Services before being transported to a trauma center in Toronto where is listed in stable condition. The driver of the Honda Civic did not sustain any injuries.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 24-year-old male, was northbound on Brock Street and was approaching Manning Road. The driver of the silver Honda Civic, a 74-year-old male, was southbound on Brock Street, waiting to making a left turn onto Manning Road. As the light was changing the driver of the Honda Civic proceeded to make the left turn and collided with the northbound motorcycle.

The area of the roadway was closed for several hours while officers collected evidence.
