Covid Update: Three new deaths, all from LTCs

Durham Health yesterday posted Twenty-one new Covid-19 cases for September 6, taking the region’s tally to 26,359 since the count began on February 29, 2020.

Durham’s overall death toll stands at 378, with 221 of them occurring in LTCs. Three new deaths have been reported, all were from LTCs.

Recoveries stand at 25,768. However, there are 213 active covid cases. Seven people are hospitalized with none in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). 206 people are in home isolation.

Durham Health reported the highest number of covid cases so far in Ajax.

There were:

  • Two new cases in Pickering
  • Four in Ajax
  • Nine in Whitby
  • Five in Oshawa, and
  • One in Scugog

Covid Deaths: 378

Of the 117 reported deaths in Pickering, 87 were in LTC
Of the 67 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTC
Of the 60 reported deaths in Whitby, 30 in LTC
Of the 65 reported deaths in Oshawa, 36 were in LTC
23 deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTC]
26 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTC
17 deaths have been reported in Scugog, 14 in LTC
3 deaths have been reported in Brock
