Double the limit near school with weed and no plate

Some cars are powerful, yes… but then race tracks are there for speed junkies – not school zones as Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) pointed out.

The car above is shown being towed as it was more than double over the limit in a school zone in Ajax, according to officers from the DRPS West Division.

The vehicle did not have a front plate, plus there was cannabis in the car… the list goes on, said the officers.

Next door, DRPS Central West Division ‘In The Zone’ Traffic Safety Initiative from January 9-13, yielded 619 charges and 85 educational cautions to motorists in and around school zones/community safety zones.

DRPS encouraged cautious and safe driving everywhere.

Meanwhile, DRPS Traffic Services said speeding to overtake the regular flow of traffic is never smart (see below).

It can be costly – tickets, collisions and worse. Please slow down.
