Driver flees from police… but ends up stuck on a curb

An officer from the West Division of the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) spotted a speeding car on Brock Road, and attempted to stop it.

The driver fled but ended up on a curb, stuck. Now she is facing charges, vehicle impound and license suspension.

On June 21st, just after midnight, the officer was in the area of Brock Road and Elsa Storry Avenue in Pickering, when he spotted a beige Volkswagen speeding.

When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled at a high rate of speed.

However, the driver lost control on a turn and mounted a curb, causing the vehicle to get stuck.

The 19 year old female from Pickering was arrested and faces numerous charges including: flight from police; drive motor vehicle – perform stunt; careless driving and speeding (118 kmh in a posted 60 kmh zone).

The vehicle was impounded and her licence suspended. She was released on an undertaking.
