Pole damage closes Oshawa pier, reopened today

It’s not just drivers that have an uncanny fascination for Durham light poles – mother nature seems to too.

The Hamilton Oshawa Port Authority (Hopa Ports) and the City of Oshawa yesterday announced that the pier at the Oshawa waterfront has been temporarily closed due to light pole damage due to high winds.

“The pier will be temporarily closed to ensure public safety. We request that visitors to Lakeview Park adhere to the temporary closure of the pier,” said a joint statement.

This morning Hopa Ports announced that the pier is now open.
