Driver who fled crash scene tracked + unsanctioned car rally

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) managed to track down and locate a hit-and-run driver.

According to DRPS West Division officers on Friday March 22, the collision happened at Harwood Avenue and Hunt Street in the Town of Ajax.

The driver of one of the vehicles, an Infiniti (top image), failed to remain, and fled the scene.

Police located the vehicles in the City of Pickering (image below).

The driver received nine charges including no insurance, police said.

Kid gets mom and dad’s car impounded

DRPS Traffic Services last week reported a driver who was clocked doing 106kmh in a 50-zone.

The incident took place along Taunton through Mitchell’s corners area.

This driver got their parents vehicle impounded for 14 days, said police urging drivers to”please slow down”.

Unsanctioned car rally

Meanwhile, DRPS reported an unsanctioned car rally in Whitby (see below).

On Friday March 22, DRPS Traffic Services said this incident happened prior to police arrival.

However, through investigative means, officers identified the vehicle and driver.

“The vehicle has been seized and driver issued a court date. Our team is dedicated to community safety and reminds drivers that we are out 24/7,” police said.
