A male is in custody after secretly taking intimate images and sexually assaulting a female in Whitby.
Between October 2 and October 3 last year, the suspect secretly recorded intimate images and sexually assaulted the victim while she was asleep.
These images, including historic intimate images of the victim, were shared without her consent. Further images of other victims that were underage were also posted on various social media platforms without their consent, said a police statement.
On Thursday, March 21, members of the Central West Division Criminal Investigations Branch, with the assistance of Central West Division frontline officers and the E-Crimes Unit, executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence in Whitby. The suspect was located and taken into custody without incident. Numerous electronics were seized from the residence.
The suspect, age 21 from Whitby was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
