Driver who hit female cyclist and fled arrested

Durham police collision investigators have made an arrest in connection with a fatal fail-to-remain collision which claimed the life of a 36-year-old female cyclist in Oshawa in November.

On March 12 members of the Collision Investigation Unit arrested a male suspect in connection to this fail to remain, which occurred on Stevenson Road in Oshawa on November 22.

Swainson Mills of Oshawa is charged with Fail to Remain Causing Death and Dangerous Operation Causing Death. He was held for a bail hearing.

The investigation continues and anyone with new information is asked to contact D/Cst. Bill Scott of the Traffic Services Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5217.
