Durham Police investigators have arrested two suspects and seized a quantity of drugs and weapons after concluding a drug investigation in Oshawa.
On January 7, investigators from the Central East Division Criminal Investigations Bureau, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit and the Offender Management Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on Mill Street in Oshawa.
During the search warrant, investigators seized approximately $90,000 in cash, drugs (cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, cannabis and heroin) and numerous imitation handguns and weapons, said a police statement.
The suspect Kyle Odette was also charged in relation to a robbery at an Oshawa hotel on Bloor Street West on December 17, 2020. The suspect entered one of the units armed with a gun and stabbed the victim before fleeing on foot. The victim in this incident sustained non-life threatening injuries to his face.
Odette, age 37, of Mill Street in Oshawa is facing 17 charges including: Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x4;Possession for Purpose of Trafficking (Cannabis); Weapons Dangerous; Assault with a Weapon; Robbery with an Offensive Weapon and Carry Concealed Weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.
Kayla Donnison, age 33, of Centre Street North in Oshawa, is charged with Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x4 and(Cannabis). She was released on an Undertaking.
