Another suspicious package found on transit bus

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) had to scramble yesterday as yet another suspicious package was found on a transit bus late evening.

A DRPS tweet said members of its Tactical Support Unit and Explosive Disposal Unit were investigating a suspicious package which was found on a transit bus at Taunton Road and Harmony Road in Oshawa.

In an advisory, it asked residents to avoid the area while “we investigate and clear the package”.

A while later DRPS tweeted: “Thanks for everyone’s patience. The item was rendered safe. Officers cleared the area.”

No further details were released till late last night.

In late October, the police had to “render safe” another suspicious package that was left on a public transport bus in Whitby.
