Duct-taping crashed car door, window not enough, say police

This car owner may have thought of self as ingenuous, but his inventive make-do trick did not pass muster with the ever-vigilant stalwarts of the police force.

We suspect that the car owner had a lot on their minds what with the misery of the crash and the duct-tape inefficacy with the police.

They say it never rains, but pours, which seems likely for this car owner. They also had the bad luck of parking the vehicle in a live lane of traffic – which of course, was the first thing noticed by the eagle-eyed traffic officer.

“Driver charged with standing in a live lane, no emergency brake and operating an unsafe vehicle in Uxbridge, said a Durham Police North Division  alert on Friday.

“Vehicles involved in accidents need to be fixed properly prior to driving them; duct taping a door and window is not sufficient,” it pointed out.

No further details were released.
