Clarington is urging residents across the municipality, the region, the province and Canada, to support Bowmanville gymnast Ava Stewart, as she prepares to attend the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.
Ava made her Olympic debut in the Tokyo Games in 2021 at just 16 years of age. In 2022, Ava helped Team Canada win the bronze medal at the Pan American Championships in Santiago, Chile.
This month, she joins the world’s best Artistic Gymnastics athletes to represent the community and Canada in the 2024 Summer Olympics.
“On behalf of Clarington Council, I would like to congratulate Ava Stewart on her remarkable achievement of competing in the Olympics – again! This shows how much she has invested in her passion, skill, and excellence. She keeps inspiring our community with her achievements,” said Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster.
The municipality has created a special poster (below) in Ava’s support.
