On December 9 and 10, the Holiday Trail comes to life in Uxbridge with shops open late, live music in the windows, strolling characters, a ‘Toonie Trail’, and a wave through the window from Santa and Mrs. Claus!
Visitors can enjoy a Holiday Trail special at a local eatery, hop-on a 1920’s replica trolley with Town Trolley Tours for a drive through the Optimist Fantasy of Lights, or grab a map to guide your journey at the Cobra Fireplace Warming Station at 23 Brock Street.
With shop windows decorated with the theme ‘Holidays Around the World’ visitors can discover a beautiful ‘Walk in a Nordic Wonderland’ through the glass at The Lemonde Stand, see the ‘Nutcrackers of Germany’ at Tin Restaurant, explore ‘Christmas in Denmark’ at Woods Clothing, and celebrate Chinese New Year at Mani Tea, said a township statement.
On December 9 and 10, the Holiday Trail on Brock Street comes to Life with musicians performing behind the glass at Low’s Furniture, Preston Gallery, and The Bridge Social. With sponsorship from Castool Tooling Systems, featured artists include CCMA nominee Leah Daniels, jazz musician Whitney Ross-Barris, country singer Ben Hudson, and the duo of Julien Kelland with Davi Aquino, all performing holiday favourites.
Also, discover a life-sized animated Grinch in ‘Whoville’ presented in the window at Reilly Back CPAs and Prosper Financial Group and across the street visitors can snap a photo with Mr. Grinch himself in an authentic Himalayan Salt Cave at Holistic Salt Therapy and Cave. Frozen in Norway comes to life with a meet and greet with Olaf and Princesses Anna and Elsa at Community Cleaning. Save time to wave to Santa and Mrs. Claus through the glass at H. Bee Architecture’s beautiful ‘Winter Forest’ window.
“This year’s participation for the Holiday Trail has been incredible with close to 40 businesses involved and the business owners never cease to amaze me! They have done so much to light-up the Holiday Trail with their themed windows and décor. They also have a great weekend in store for December 9 and 10, when the windows come to Life! If you have not shopped or dined in Uxbridge, it’s something to add to your holiday list for sure,” said Lisa John-Mackenzie, Manager, Tourism and Cultural Services, Township of Uxbridge.
