Extreme Cold Weather Alert extended to Wednesday

Durham Region Health Department yesterday extended the Extreme Cold Weather Alert until Wednesday, January 26 morning, as temperatures are expected to drop Tuesday morning (January 25) with a wind chill of -20°C or colder.

City of Oshawa advised Durham residents to dress in layers to cover any exposed skin. Depending upon the wind chill, exposed skin can freeze in minutes, while Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) has asked motorists to slow down, and “make sure you clear all ice/snow” from your vehicles. Give yourself extra time and be patient! Stay safe!

Durham residents were also asked to check on vulnerable friends, neighbours, family and pets.
