False gun call to police nets drugs at McDonald’s

A man is facing charges after being found in possession of drugs in Pickering.

On Saturday, March 28, around 6:40 pm, members of West Division responded to an armed person call at the McDonald’s located at 1300 Kingston Road.

Police received a report that a man seated inside the restaurant was in possession of a firearm.

Officers arrived on scene and located the suspect, who was taken into custody without incident. A search of the suspect found over 180 grams of fentanyl, scales, cell phones, and drug paraphernalia, police said. It did not say if a firearm was found.

The suspect was released on bail a month earlier for similar offenses and was bound by firearms prohibition conditions at the time of his arrest.
