Felon on release caught again for breaking into businesses

Durham Police said a 21-year-old male has been arrested and charged for multiple break-and-enters in Bowmanville in the Municipality of Clarington.

On Tuesday, December 3 at about 1 am, members of East Division responded to the area of King Street East and Liberty Street South for an alarm call at a business. Officers arrived on scene and located a business that had been broken into.

At approximately 1:45 am, members received another call for an alarm at a business less than a kilometre away. Officers arrived on scene and located the suspect inside the business. The suspect attempted to flee on foot and was quickly arrested.

An additional business was located within the vicinity that had also been broken into, police said.

The suspect, age 21, of Clarington, was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.

The suspect, at the time of his arrest, was out on a release for similar charges.
