Firearm ditched by hit-and-run suspect sniffed out by Brooks

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) K-9 Unit yesterday highlighted the sterling work their canny, faithful and obediently fierce friends do to keep our communities safer.

The unit reported that recently, PC Rodgers and K9 Brooks, deployed in search of a suspect who had fled from a vehicle involved in a Fail to Remain Collision.

While searching the area, K9 Brooks located a loaded firearm which had possibly been ditched by the fleeing suspect, the police said.

They did not release any further details of the incident.
