Five robbers invade Pickering home, assault man, flee

Durham Police investigators are looking for suspects and are appealing for witness following a violent home invasion that occurred in Pickering.

On Friday, April 14, at about 12:45 am, members of West Division responded to an address in the area of Dragonfly Avenue and Sapphire Drive, in Pickering after five male suspects broke into a residence and assaulted a young male.

The suspects stole a quantity of items and fled on foot to a light coloured vehicle in the area. The male sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local area hospital for treatment and released, said a police statement.

The suspects range in age from 17 to 22, were all wearing ski masks and various colours of hooded sweatshirts.

Suspect #1: male, Black, medium build, 6 feet in height, Afro-style hair, wearing sunglasses with gold trim and navy hooded sweatshirt.

Police are encouraging anyone with information or video footage, including dashcam and home surveillance, to come forward.
