Four charged after man found with gunshot wound

Durham Police yesterday said four male suspects are facing numerous charges after a shooting in Oshawa.

On March 19, 2021 at about 12:15 pm, a 22-year-old male from Oshawa entered the local hospital in Oshawa suffering from a gunshot wound. Police were called and investigators attended the hospital and spoke with the victim who had non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim told police he was walking in a residential area near Birchcliffe Avenue and Lakeview Park Avenue, in Oshawa when he was shot. Investigators executed a search warrant at a residence of Birchcliffe Avenue in Oshawa. During the search warrant, investigators seized approximately $8,500 in cash, $46,000 in drugs (cocaine and fentanyl), a loaded firearm and a rifle, said a police statement.

Garey Johnson, age 49, from Birchcliffe Avenue in Oshawa, Reshane Harriott, age 27, from Birchcliffe Avenue in Oshawa, Trey Johnson, age 24, from Rathburn Street in Mississauga, and Dante Johnson, age 20, from Dominy Drive in Ajax are facing numerous firearms and drug related charges.

Investigators don’t believe that this was a random act.
