Future road in Oshawa Official Plan deleted

A future road has been deleted from the Oshawa’s official plan by the city council.

The  deletion is of east-west Future Type ‘C’ Arterial Road located north of Taunton Road West and south of Conlin Road West, extending between Stevenson Road North and the Whitby-Oshawa municipal boundary.

The proposed official plan amendment is not exempt from approval by the Region of Durham. Accordingly, the Official Plan Amendment is being submitted to the Region of Durham for approval.

In accordance with Section 17(23) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990 c.P.13, as amended, please be advised that By-law 57-2022 adopting Official Plan Amendment 208 to the City of Oshawa Official Plan was passed by the Council of the City of Oshawa on the 24th day of May, 2022.

City staff to pass by-laws to remove holding (h) symbols

The city council has also adopted Official Plan Amendment 207 during its meeting late last month.

The purpose and effect of Amendment 207 to the Oshawa Official Plan is to amend the Oshawa Official Plan to permit delegated city staff to pass by-laws to remove holding (h) symbols.

The proposed official plan amendment is exempt from approval by the Region of Durham. The decision of council is final if a notice of appeal is not received on or before the last day for filing a notice of appeal.

The last day for filing a notice of appeal is June 22, 2022.
