Groundworks start on new KPR school in Bowmanville

Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board (KPRDSB) on Friday kicked off the construction of the new school in Bowmanville, Clarington.

“KPR was pleased to be joined today by provincial and municipal education partners to turn the sod at the construction site of the new Northglen neighbourhood school in Bowmanville,” said a board alert.

“Scheduled to open September 2025, the school will house 769 students, JK-Gr 8 and a 4-room childcare centre,” it added.

The Ontario government approval for the new school was announced end-March with a sanctioned investment of $36.8 million.

The new Northglen Neighbourhood School will be located at 140 Northglen Boulevard in Bowmanville. An earlier announcement said once completed, this project will deliver 786 elementary spaces and 73 licenced childcare spaces for local families.
