Gun pointing stalker nabbed with help of eyes in the sky

Durham Police said two suspects have been arrested after a search warrant led to multiple firearms seized.

On Friday, November 1, at about 9:20 pm. members from Central West Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Brock Street North and Rossland Road East in Whitby. The victim had been at a nearby shopping plaza when he was followed home by a male in a red GMC SUV. The victim attempted to lose the SUV, but again saw the suspect when parking in his driveway.

The victim remained in his vehicle and the suspect pointed a handgun out the passenger window at the victim. The suspect then fled the area, police said.

Members of Central West Division were able to quickly identify the vehicle and associated suspects. With the assistance of drones, officers located the vehicle at the suspect’s residence in the area of Centre Street North and Rossland Road East, in Whitby.

Members of Central West Criminal Investigations Bureau and the Tactical Support Unit executed a search warrant on the residence and arrested two suspects, seizing multiple firearms and ammunition.
