Pepper spraying thief stays in store, gets arrested

An adult is facing charges after pepper spraying a convenience store employee in Oshawa.

On Wednesday, November 6, at about 2:55 am, members of Central East Division responded to a robbery call at the Circle K convenience store, located at 206 King Street East. The suspect entered the business and sprayed an employee with a noxious substance while attempting to steal items.

Officers arrived on scene and took the suspect into custody without incident. A canister of pepper spray was located during a search of the suspect.

The victim sustained minor injuries, police said.

A 19-year-old from Oshawa was charged and released on an undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
