Here are details of Ajax’s new development charges by-law

The Town of Ajax Council has passed municipal-wide Development Charges By-law 13-2025 on February 18, under the Development Charges Act.

The by-law, effective March 1, sets fees for residential and non-residential development based on various services—including highway, fire protection, parks and recreation, library, by-law enforcement, and growth-related studies—with total charges varying by service class.

The by-law allows appeals to the Ontario Land Tribunal until March 31, with appeal fees of $1,100 for corporations and $400 for private citizens, charities, or non-profit associations.
