The Ministry of Transportation has informed about the Brock Road and Highway 401 CN Overpass Rehabilitation Project, under which Highway 401 eastbound ramp will be closed for some time this weekend.
Highway 401 Eastbound north, southeast ramp at Brock Road will be fully closed on March 29, from 12 midnight to 5 am to facilitate emergency concrete repairs, said a Pickering statement.
This closure is necessary to ensure the safety and integrity of the infrastructure. During this time, all lanes of the ramp will be unavailable, and motorists will be required to use alternate routes.
This project will help maintain critical transportation infrastructure and support the safe movement of people and goods through an important regional corridor.
Future work will involve the east side of Brock Road, the CN overpass structure, and the Highway 401 bridge.
Although this work is not being led by the City of Pickering, construction may affect traffic flow, travel times, and access for residents.
