Hitting 90 in a flashing 60kmh school zone

The Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) is daily reporting incidents of speeding in and around school zones.

The latest violator was caught by DRPS North Division officers in Beaverton.

This motorist was travelling 90kmh in a flashing 60kmh school zone on Hwy 12 in Beaverton, said a police tweet.

“Please slow down and obey the speed limits in school and community safety zones,” it said without specifying the penalties.

In another incident in Whitby, a van driver was caught speeding (image below).

Helping out DRPS West Division on a traffic stop at Brock Road/Taunton Road, said a tweet from DRPS Traffic Services.

“The van was stopped for speeding and the driver was suspended. Appropriate charges laid by my colleague,” it added.
