Durham Police yesterday said a 77-year-old male is facing historic Sexual Assault charges dating back to 1984.
The DRPS Special Victims Unit commenced an investigation in February after a victim, who was 15-years-old at the time, came forward to report sexual misconduct against a male. The suspect, who was an employee at the Rotherglen Centre in Pickering, is accused of sexually assaulting the victim while she was at the centre, said a police statement.
At the completion of their investigation, investigators have arrested and charged the suspect of Wellington County, Ontario, with: Sexual Assault x2 and Gross Indecency x2.
He was released on an Undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
Investigators want to ensure there are no further victims. Anyone with information in relation to the suspect is urged to contact police as soon as possible.
