Home invasions in Clarington, Oshawa

Durham Police are investigating a home invasion in Oshawa that occurred Monday night.

On August 23, 2021, at approximately 6:35 p.m., members from Central West Division responded to a residence in the area of Thronton Road North and Conlin Road. Three suspects entered the home, one was brandishing a handgun and another held a hammer. One of the occupants of the home was hit with the hammer during the incident. The suspects ransacked the residence and fled.

The occupant was treated in hospital for minor injuries. Police do not believe this is a random incident.

Suspect #1 is described as male, black, approximately 25 years old, 6 to 6’2 tall with a slim build. He has black hair in braids, a dark-colored sweater, blue jeans and a black baseball cap. He was armed with a black handgun.

Suspect #2 is described as male, black, approximately 25 years old, 5’10” to 6′ tall with a slim build. He was wearing a white and yellow long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans. He was armed with a hammer.

Suspect #3 is described as male, white, approximately 18 to 19 years old, 6’2″ to 6’3″ tall and 200 to 220 lbs. He is unshaven, long brown hair, wearing a red t-shirt and blue jeans.

Home invasion in Clarington

Investigators are searching for two suspects following a violent home-invasion style robbery at a residence in Clarington.

On  August 24, 2021, at approximately 1:10 a.m., members from East Division responded to a home-invasion style robbery at a residence in the area of Cecil Found Crescent. The suspects entered the home armed with a gun and weapons. One of the occupants was struck in the head with an object and he suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. Officers also found a bullet hole in the residence. The two suspects fled on foot.

Officers continue to investigate the incident and are looking for any witnesses to come forward. This was an isolated incident and not a random act.

The suspects are described as both male, black, one wearing a purple hoodie, the other male wearing a dark hoodie with a blue mask.
