There will be hourly GO train service on Saturday, April 8 and Sunday, April 9, according to operator Metrolinx.
Regular service will resume Monday April 11, it added.
“We are continuing work on integrating the Ontario Line, which will support significant service improvements on the Lakeshore East Line, and this work can only be done when trains are not running on certain tracks,” it explained.
It said:
- Trains will run approximately once an hour, making all stops between Durham College Oshawa GO and Union Station.
- Eastbound trains departing Union Station making every stop to Durham College Oshawa GO, will depart Union Station hourly, at 14 minutes after the hour from 9:14 am to just after midnight at 12:14 am.
- One final train will leave Union Station at 12:45 am on Sunday, April 9 only
- Westbound trains departing Durham College Oshawa GO making every stop to Union Station will depart Durham College Oshawa GO hourly at 34 minutes after the hour from 7:34 am to 10:34 pm.
- One final train will leave Durham College Oshawa GO at 11:39 pm on Saturday, April 8 only.
Metrolinx said for those travelling on Lakeshore West and continuing east past Union Station, some train trips will terminate at Union Station, and you will need to wait for the next Lakeshore East trip.
Please listen to onboard announcements and check the departure boards if you need to transfer to another train, it added.
“Thank you for your patience as we perform this important work. Through the GO Expansion program, we are building a better service with faster trains, more stations, increased capacity and reduced travel,” said Metrolinx.
