Impaired driver crashes car into truck into home…

Officers from the Central East Division of the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) arrested a motorist for impaired driving after he crashed into a parked car and a residence.

Fortunately there were no serious injuries, it said.

On Friday September 9 at 11:23pm, officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Somerville Street and Beatrice Street West.

Witnesses observed a silver Kia traveling northbound at a high rate of speed. It lost control and crossed into the southbound lanes before striking a parked truck in a driveway, said a police statement.

The impact caused the parked truck to strike the residence, causing significant damage.

When officers arrived, they detected signs of impairment and arrested the male driver.

A 51 year old male from Oshawa has been charged with dangerous operation of a conveyance, operation while impaired by alcohol, and operation while impaired – exceed.
