As adult you have to do better than ‘I have to go to washroom’

At Taunton Road and Audley Road in the Town of Ajax, this motor vehicle (above) was stopped for stunt driving and the appropriate charges laid.

As an adult you have to do better than saying you have to go to the washroom when you’re endangering others, said the police.

DRPS Traffic Services yesterday said speeding is never worth it.

“At most you save a minute or two and yet risk killing yourself or other road users. Slow down, plan ahead and drive in accordance with the rules of the road, said a tweet after a driver was caught speeding.

It nabbed a stunt driver on Highway 7 in the City of Pickering doing 134kmh.

“Remember stunt driving means 14 days of impound fees, no car and 30 days without a licence. Slow down, it’s not worth it,” it emphasized.

But not two minutes after posting the last stunt, another one was stopped for stunt driving in Pickering at the “unacceptable speed” of 133kmh.

Meanwhile Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) North Division officers pointed out that speeding 88kmh in a posted 50kmh, is too fast.

“Please obey the speed limit”.

North Division said a car was impounded for stunt driving. The driver was excessively speeding at 120kmh in a posted 60kmh zone in Brock.

It cost this driver (below), 30 day licence suspension, 14 day vehicle impound and a hefty fine.

Meanwhile, DRPS Central East Division Traffic Safety Team reminded drivers to stop for crossing guards who have their sign out and in the road.

It’s a $730 fine and 4 demerit points upon conviction, it pointed out.

DRPS East Division officers emphasized it means no trucks when a “No Trucks’ sign is posted.

At Clarington Concession Road 7 from Grandview Road North East to Enfield Road, is so posted.

Fine $110 and 2 points.
