It’s been long and challenging two years: Dr. Kyle

It has been a long, and often challenging two years since the pandemic was first announced, says Durham Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Robert Kyle.

“Our collective efforts have allowed us to come this far in experiencing the improvements that we are now seeing. Thank you to all area residents for your commitment and dedication to ensuring that we continue to keep each other safe,” he said in message detailing proof of vaccine passports and the lifting of public health measures.

As for the masking requirement he added “Individuals are still required to wear a mask that covers their nose, mouth and chin in indoor public settings. The province is currently reviewing masking requirements and will communicate a timeline to lift these measures at a later date.”

He said the province is continuing with its cautious and gradual lifting of public health restrictions related to Covid-19. Effective March 1, capacity limits in all remaining indoor public settings, physical distancing requirements and proof of vaccination are no longer mandated provincial public health measures. In addition, there are no limits on indoor or outdoor social gatherings, organized public events, or religious services, rites or ceremonies. Sector specific restrictions have also been lifted, including limits associated with dancing and singing, requirements to remain seated, active screening of patrons by various businesses, etc.”

“The province will continue to provide access to Covid-19 vaccine certificates with QR codes to support travel requirements and employer-led policies. Businesses and other settings may choose to continue to require proof of vaccination, subject to applicable laws.” he added.

  1. Robert pile is nothing but a puppet on a string he gets all his directions from Ontario health.
I don’t know what is ages bit’s ages but it’s time that we actually had a real proper representative of Durham health. I wonder how Robert kyles lawsuit is doing.
Dan Robert Kyle repeats what Ontario health tells us what to do his position is absolutely redundant saredundant save taxpayers millions of dollars by removing his position.
All those that are leading the way in the hospitals could easily do peacefully do their share of the responsibility which the responsibility which they are already do.
