Kingston man charged after brawl at hockey game

A 43-year-old male has been charged following an altercation at an Under-16 hockey game in Whitby earlier this week, said Durham Police.

On Monday, March 28, at about 10:30 pm, members from Central West Division received a call for a disturbance at the Iroquois Park Sports Complex, said a police statement.

Reports indicate that following a fight between two players, one of the players was grabbed and shoved by an adult male while the player was exiting the ice surface. Others in attendance intervened and the altercation spilled out into the parking lot, the statement said.

The suspect from Kingston has been charged with: Assault and Causing a Disturbance by Fighting. He was released on an undertaking.
