Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday turned up in force at a residence in Oshawa to arrest a suspect.
It, however, reassured that there was no public safety concerns.
“There is a large police presence in the area of Marland Avenue and Park Road South in Oshawa for an ongoing police investigation,” said the police.
“At this time, the incident is contained within a residence and there is not threat to public safety. Further information to follow,” it added.
In a later update, police said one male had been taking into custody without incident. The area was cleared.
No further details were released till late last night.
