Help find this 87-year old boater missing since Friday

Durham Police are searching for a missing 87-year-old male who was last seen departing Frenchman’s Bay aboard his sailboat in Pickering on Friday.

On Monday, October 2 at about 8 pm, members from West Division attended the area of Bayly Street and St Martins Drive in Pickering for a well-being check. An investigation began after officers were unable to locate the male in his home.

Officers have been able to determine that the occupant left his home on Friday, September 29, and attended Frenchman’s Bay Marina in Pickering where he boarded his sailboat at approximately 12:30 pm. He has not been heard from or seen since, said a police statement.

Manfred, who goes by Fred, is described as male, White, medium build, 5’10, with grey hair. He was last seen wearing an orange/red hat, blue shirt, and beige pants.

His sailboat Passat, is described as 25 feet, with a blue haul and Ontario ID 50E99759.
