DRPS Traffic Services officers seem to witness something new everyday.
While doing inspections yesterday, a tandem gravel hauler was stopped for going 25kmh over the limit as he overtook another truck in the oncoming traffic lane… needless to say, stopped, charged and directed to the inspection point, said the police.
It said North Division Officers and DRPS Traffic Services conducted the Commercial Motor Vehicle blitz in Scugog.
Numerous violations were reported and vehicles were being taken out of service.
Zipping past the cruiser
But the most amazing incident reported was that of a driver who ignored a police cruiser on the road and zipped by it at 136kmh.
“Stunt driving is never a good choice, but this is just silly. Slow down,” said the police.
Meanwhile, Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) said there was a road closure in Port Perry yesterday.
Simcoe Street at Scugog Line 12 and Puckrin Drive was closed in both directions for an accident investigation, it said.
